User Research 

Understanding the space

• The first task for this project was to understand the wine tasting experience so I watched videos and read articles about what all factors are considered while tasting wine
• Next, I did a competitive analysis of various websites and applications and noted what information is provided to the users
  
• On the basis of this information, I prepared an interview questionnaire

Wine tasting session

• My friend and I conducted wine tasting session and we asked 7 participants to taste one red wine and one white wine
• After tasting each wine, the participants filled the wine tasting sheet
• Then I separately interviewed the participants and a few questions from the interview are as follows:
  1. Rate on a scale of 1 (Totally disagree) to 7 (Totally Agree)
     • I know what type of wine I like
     • I don’t know how to describe a wine
     • I always want to try new wines
     • I always look out for professional tasting reviews of wine before buying it
     • I would like to learn more about wine tasting
     • I don’t care about the wine tasting notes from professionals
  2.  What do you like about wine tasting?
• Based on the responses, I understood that people look for basic information about wine and general reviews before buying it
• While filling the wine tasting sheet, all the 7 participants used google to check how a particular color looks like
• Lastly, they would like to learn how to describe a wine in a professional manner

Competitive Analysis 

Casual Drinker

I have not been to professional wine tasting events but I like to try new wines at home. I cook food and a glass of wine goes perfectly with it. Before buying the wine I check basic information like the type of grape and reviews from other people.

Professional Drinker

I like to experiment with different types of wines and I write down my personal feelings in a journal. It feels great to be able to communicate about wine tasting. I also like to give reviews and read other's reviews. It's interesting that different people have totally different views about the same wine!
