Stress in the modern world is a constant.
Constant stress takes a toll on the body, brain, mind, and soul. It can cause a variety of symptoms that affect your overall physical and mental health and well-being.
75%
of adults experienced moderate to high stress levels in the past month.
80%
of people are or feel stressed in their work environment.
We are creating a stress reduction space at Imagine RIT.
Our goal is to create an exhibit showcasing how meditation, like breathing exercises, aids in reducing stress, and offer Imagine RIT visitors a chance to sit down and relax from the hectic day. Our exhibit will be employing the 4-7-8 breathing technique, where you inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds.
Personalized and peaceful.
After taking a relaxation quiz, we will be using pulse sensors and respiration belts to track visitors biometrics while they follow the meditaiton. During the breathing exercise a visual will build based around the users quiz answers and health data. Afterwards they have the opportunity to relive the experience through a web application version of the meditation.
Our Pitch Keynote
In this video we go into more depth on how we plan to go about solving the problem of stress reduction through meditation, and how we will bring this installation to life.
