Graduates love decorating their graduation cap, so we thought:

"Why not give everyone the ability to make an LED graduation cap without the need for programming/engineering skills?"

...and that's how BrightMinds came along

We found a way to make one of the most important events of a young adult's life more special and memorable with an easy-to-use, customizable LED grid graduation cap.

Phone to Cap

Our end product is a mobile website that connects to an LED grid via the internet, sending any design that a person can find or make to be displayed on the LED grid grad cap.

Canvas Function

Our most important feature is the ability to allow the graduates to create their own designs from scratch. Our wonderful designer spent a lot of time creating multiple designs of the canvas before finally deciding on one that would best fit the needs of the user.

Process

We started by sketching ideas, discussing what our website could look like, and doing research. Some of the things we researched were how other people have built LED grad caps, how we could streamline and customize the experience, and what materials we needed.

Thank you for coming by!

BrightMinds is currently just a mobile website and LED graduation cap, but we see it as an opportunity to grow. In the future, we'd like to see BrightMinds turn into a wide variety of wearable LED accessories, expanding into territories like sports memorabilia, weddings, anniversary parties, and more. Imagine being at a sporting event and the fans all wear LED hats that are parts of one big LED grid and it displays the team mascot. The possibilities are endless!
