About

Chime is a New Media capstone project created in 2019. Our goal is to bring together communities and set aside differences through a collaborative musical experience.

Problem

Today, we live in a world that is more divided than ever. Driven apart by what makes us different. Rather than being brought closer by what unites us. 

Our Solution

We created a collaborative music experience powered by the voices of the community in an attempt to bring people closer together while inspiring positive change.

How we did it

We built a webapp allowing the community to contribute their unique voices and sounds.

This powered our soundboard; a musical instrument created from the voices of the community. 

Visitors interacted with these sounds to create an audiovisual experience collaboratively.

Visitors left with exit tokens with links to the track they just created together to download and share after.

We brought together over 700 people

Helped create over 250 songs
